The Y works with children and adults. With open arms and open minds. With passion and dedication and a lack of judgement hard to find in other fitness clubs, community organizations, or anywhere these days. This Campaign for the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee’s communicated just that. We told the public, in no uncertain terms, that Y memberships are associated with better health, new skills, increased values, and improved self-confidence. We also sent a bold, prideful message to their members: that being a member of the Y is being a part of the greater good and a better future – for themselves, their families and the entire community. And, most importantly: if you don’t believe in what we stand for, please don’t get in the way.

Copy: The Y is not for everyone. If you prefer grumbles to giggles, avoid excitement at all costs or have a history of shooing away youths, the Y might not be right for you. Joining the YMCA shows a serious commitment to your health and well-being, and may also result in a stronger connection to your community. Plus, with special offers for new members, saving money is a very likely side effect. As always, please use your best judgement and know your limits – not everyone can handle both a good time and a great value. Think you’re ready? Then get in here and join the fun.

Copy: We know the Y is not the right fit for everyone. If you cherish every belt-loosening milestone, despise supportive environments and strongly believe you’ll never grow tired of growing – we repeat, don’t join the Y. Becoming a member of the YMCA shows a serious commitment to your health and well-being. Plus, joining this February may very well result in saving a lot of money. New members get $50 rewards after six and 12 months. As always, please use your best judgement and know your limits – not everyone can handle a slimmer body and a fatter wallet. Think you’re ready? Then grab your sneakers, ditch the self-doubt and get a move on.
