the scoop

Get the scoop: 2-Story style.

As humble as we like to be, we are thrilled to share that there’s a lot going on at 2-Story. While summer in Milwaukee means beer, baseball, bratwurst, beaches and custard- over here in Walker’s Point, we’ve been rockin’ and rollin’ in our own way.

We are announcing exciting beginnings with great new clients:

Jenny

Meet Jenny, our PR Pro.

What do you never leave the house without?

Jenny: A positive disposition and a caffeinated bloodstream.  Not always in that order.

Would you say you’re more like: Super Woman, Cat Woman or Wonder Woman –and why?

Jenny: None of the above.  I’d say “Most Every Woman” — a working mom striking a balance between career, family, self and community.

What are some of your favorite things about Milwaukee?

Jenny loves loves loves Milwaukee. We aren’t kidding.

This or that. We want to know:

Chicken or grapefruit?  Beer-battered cod and potato pancakes with apple sauce.  Hey – I’m born and raised in Milwaukee.

Beach or bubble baths?  100% beach.

Julia Child or Bobby Flay? Julia Child.  We are seemingly the only two people on earth who prefer iceberg lettuce over all others.

Moleskine or IPad?  Slightly embarrassed to report that I have both (as I call them) a Maxi Pad and a Mini Pad.  My preference is the Mini.

Santa Claus or shark jaws? Santa Claus, of course.  I always tell my kids that Santa only comes for those who believe, so we are all believers!

Do you have to wear someone else’s shoes in order to keep fresh ideas on your projects?

Jenny: I try to get inside someone else’s shoes to explore their reality, needs and what motivates them.  Taking on all of those different perspectives keeps things fresh and interesting. I get to both promote and celebrate the people, projects and organizations that bring health, prosperity and fun to our region.

How do you channel your inner 5 year old?

Jenny: I try to be delighted by the little things.

PS. Do you really own giant scissors and golden shovels?

Jenny: I borrow the first from my cousin Bozo – and I’m a high-end gardener.  (Just kidding. Yes. The rumor is true…)

Fly MKE

Dear Northern Illinois:

We like you more than O’Hare does.

      Just sayin’.

Love & kisses,

      – The Milwaukee Airport

This pretty much sums up the direction for a new campaign for our friends at the General Mitchell International Airport. With MKE, Illinois passengers can pay less, drive easier, and enjoy the convenience of a passenger-friendly, parking-friendly, and just plain ol’ friendly airport. (And keep in mind, Cheeseheads, that more Land o’ Lincolners flying MKE means better airline service for us all!)

Justin

Welcome, Justin!

Here’s your chance to get to know 2-Story’s new Web Developer extraordinaire.

What do you never leave the house without?

Justin: Wallet, cell phone and chap stick.

You’re a family man. What is the most audacious thing your children have done under your watch?

Justin: One day last fall I was watching a Packer game before work. My son asks me “Dad, can I turn on cartoons?” My response was clearly a no. He then responded (of course with the rest of the kids agreeing), “Dad, all you do is watch sports.” That’s when I had my  “Why I oughta!” and “Back in my day…” moment and sent the kids outside to go rake leaves.

Sounds audacious. Way to be efficient… Now, be careful about the following answers…Walker’s Point or the East Side?

Justin: Walker’s Point! My grandparents grew up here and my father, grandfather and I all went to Milwaukee Tech H.S.

Mad Men or Arrested Development?

Justin: Arrested Development. I always prefer a comedy.

Soufflé or Pâté?

Justin: Soufflé. I was a fat kid growing up, so I love cake.

What are some of your favorite things about Milwaukee?

Justin: Beer, brats, and cheese… the normal things people like about Milwaukee. Well, the long winters, short summers, and unpredictable weather are pretty great, too.

Is web developing more like knitting or peanut butter & jelly? And why?

Justin: Probably more like knitting. I spent too long trying to come up with a clever way to relate it to PB&J, because I love PB&J. But no luck, it’s like knitting.

Mac or PC?

Justin: Mac

What are some of your hobbies?

Justin: I enjoy playing basketball, watching sports and drawing. Oh, Fantasy Football, too.

Tell us a secret about yourself. Just kidding, you don’t have too. But really, fill us in.

Justin: I had a mullet in 2nd and 3rd grade that evolved into a shaved head with long bangs in the 6th grade.

Last but not least, what do you have to say about being the only guy at 2-Story? (At least for the time being.)

Justin: Well, I guess I’m the most handsome and intelligent guy that works here.

Wise words, Justin, wise words.

What’s your story?
