Racine, WI is a city with historic charm; an advantage for attracting redevelopment, residents and visitors. That old-fashioned charm isn't as effective for the Racine BUS. Viewed as a relic of the past, the system’s branding was last updated in the 70s. Public transit should be the lifeblood of a city, which is why we wanted to put some life back into the Racine Bus branding.
In Racine, the bus is largely perceived to be an under-utilized, last-resort form of transportation. Yet studies show that many segments are more likely than ever to try and even rely on public transit. These riders, especially Baby Boomers and Millennials, are also likely to help build the civic pride movement, supporting the notion that loving transit means loving your city. Our goal was to give them something to love.
To help the Racine BUS change perceptions, we helped them change their brand. The campaign launched with a fully-wrapped bus and a lot of fanfare, and will continue to roll out as old buses retire. Ryde on, Racine!
